Can anyone submit a CD to Cityzen?
Yes, anyone can submit a CD, however, we do have strict criteria for the artists that we cover on the site. Please review the following info and self-evaluate your work prior to submission. We don't want to waste your money by having CDs sit on our shelves, nor do we want to waste our time on substandard work submitted for review.

Due to an overwhelming response from artists to take part in the promotional activites of Cityzen.tv,
we are unable to reply to all submissions. We will give each submission fair and serious consideration.

We will only review your work if you adhere to our submission policy and supply Cityzen.tv with two(2) copies of your album.

What is the criteria for review selection?
CDs submitted must be professionally mastered, produced, manufactured and designed to be considered for review. Album advances from recognized labels are exempt from the design qualifier. We care about how serious an artist is about their music and evaluate submissions with touring schedule, prior press/publicity, professionalism, and artistic creativity in mind. High quality and production value is crucial, though a good sound is the best way to get noticed by our staff. We can/do give independent artists publicity, but only if they are taking their work seriously.

Are MP3s an acceptable alternative to CDs?
We have no problem reviewing EPs that contain less then 30 minutes worth of music, however, we will not accept MP3s as a primary source for review. MP3s are helpful to us when considering bands for live reviews and/or profiles. If you are contacting us regarding a live review and/or profile, please give us access to your music via your website, mp3s or with a press package.

Is there a particular type of music Cityzen.tv is looking for?
Not really. Cityzen.tv wants to represent as many different types of artists as it can. Currently the site reflects a wide range of genre, style, experience and level of success. We here at Cityzen.tv take pride in the fact that we highlight lesser known and regional acts. Many of the bands that we have covered in their early career have gone on to sign major record label deals and tour successfully throughout the world.

If I submit a CD, what happens to it?
Cityzen.tv has weekly listening sessions. Each session is a roundtable of staffers and writers who listen to the CDs, go through the press kits and bios, do online research and make decisions according to the aforementioned criteria. Cityzen.tv is under no obligation to accept your CD for review, but we do give each and every submission equal opportunity for selection.

How will I know if a review has been scheduled?
We will be in touch. Please be patient.

If you are interested please forward two (2) copies of your CD with your press package and appropriate contact information to:

Cityzen.tv is under no obligation to accept your music nor to provide you with artistic input.
